... Back in September 1st, I did an editorial post, named IN THE STATE OF OBSESSION. And, this look was the outfit I wore for the post. It took me awhile to get around to do a post for it. But, nevertheless, it is here!!! I am really not so much a pastel-color person. So, rarely, I find myself in an outfit that contains head-to-toe light color: I don't mean by all white or all light blue, you know, the pretty light colors, the ethereal types. What I mean is the certain type of pastel combination, like this one with lavender over pale pink, that just does not speak to me so much! So, I was surprised to find myself in such mood in that particular summer raining morning to decide to put on this fitted Byron Lars's structured corset shirt over a pink denim from Juicy Couture. I still can not decide if I dig the outfit or not! it just felt a bit awkward to me.

... On another note, what I really loved about this particular morning snaps was its fairy-like setting. It was right after a brisk rain! With the flowers, the antique fence and the slightly foggy sky, it felt less like in New York than in a small town somewhere. However, yesterday when we walked by this house where we took this photo, we sadly discovered that the building went on a make-over and the beautiful fence and flower, which made this magic backdrop in that raining morning, had completely gone .... Oh!!! I don't know ... it just seemed so random and unexpected! How would I knew that something that were so much part of the environment I lived could just disappear .... forever!!! So, for today's My Daily LookBook, I am posting this outfit with its magic setting to remember the existence of those beautifully carved fences, stairways and carefully planted flowers and greens! After all, a photograph only truly serves its purpose when it delivers memory ...

I was wearing a structure shirt from Byron Lar's beauty Market light pink cropped denim from Juicy Couture and sandals from Miss Trish of Capri! The sunglasses was from St. John.

very pretty. i'm not a pastel kind of person either, but...sometimes a combination just works.
it always bothers my memory a bit when i return somewhere to find something's missing or completely altered. so true what you say about a photograph.

Its interesting to hear the story behind the post. I think the shots look great, and I love your sandals! What a shame the building doesn't exist anymore, but at least you have a beautiful recorded memory :)

I think this look suits you so well! I know what you mean about lighter pastel shades though. I think it's a combination of big city life and just laziness that usually propels me to choose black or darker shades and I don't feel as comfortable wearing lighter ones. The setting of the photo is magical.... such a shame they've gotten rid of it...

This is exactly what I love in clothing. You don't have to be "that kind of person" - but you can still wear it when you feel like it.

And on the other hand - change, when you feel like it.
